Deebo Samuel isn’t just a complementary piece—he’s a dynamic force built to thrive in this offense. His arrival brings instant versatility, explosiveness, and matchup nightmares, all without the need for schematic overhauls.
Samuel’s skill set blends physicality and finesse, aligning perfectly with the current system while unlocking new creative wrinkles. He excels in both short-area bursts and deep-ball threats, — averaging 18.2 yards after the catch on deep targets in 2024. His route-running, hands, and tracking ability make him a dependable, big-play option. Although he had 5 drops last year and a couple were crucial.
In the screen game, Samuel’s contact balance and vision turns routine throws into chunk gains. His 42 rushing attempts last season—via jet sweeps, reverses, and tosses—highlight his rare dual-threat “hauling receiver” value, creating unique defensive stress points.
Perhaps most exciting is how Samuel takes all the focus off Jayden Daniels behind the LOS and pre-snap. His motion, alignment flexibility, and RPO presence open the field, particularly in read-option looks and scrambling situations. With defenses unable to key solely on Jayden, expect more balance and unpredictability from OC Kliff Kingsbury.
